Remember that long-time peace activist Kathy Kelly speaks at noon today, Feb. 18th,
in the University YMCA Friday Forum (1001 S. Wright St., Champaign):

PROPHETIC VOICE/PUBLIC WITNESS: SEARCHING FOR A NON-VIOLENT APPROACH

Kathy Kelly has traveled to Afghanistan and Pakistan several times in the past
year to learn more about the effects of U.S. warfare on those who are bearing the
brunt of our wars. With a small delegation from Voices for Creative Nonviolence,
(VCNV), she spent three weeks with Afghan Youth Peace Volunteers, in Kabul and
in Bamiyan, during December of last year. Kelly co-coordinates VCNV.

...

and she will be at the First Mennonite Church (Lincoln and Springfield, Urbana)
this evening at 5:30, for an evening of supper and informal conversation.

Ms. Kelly is in the process of organizing another trip to Afghanistan,
for April/May. She's very interested in recruiting people from Champaign-Urbana
to go, so if you might be interested, please come speak with her!
