2 of the speakers have switched dates for the Friday Forum.  Phil
Reese will be speaking on April 8, instead of March 11.  He is
switching dates with John Lynn, who will be speaking on March 11th.

March 11
“Getting Back at bin Laden: Fear, Outrage, and the American Way in the
War on Terrorism”
John Lynn, Distinguished Professor of Military History, Northwestern University
While we define terrorism as producing fear, the more important
operative emotion among the audience targeted by most terrorists is
outrage, and this emotional shift has real implications. This talk
considers the varying forms of terrorism, the different audiences to
whom terrorists appeal, and the nature of terrorism as “jujitsu,”
using the enemy’s own strength to defeat him (or her).

April 8
“Don't Ask, Don't Tell: Gender-Identity and Sexual Orientation issues
in the Military”
Phil Reese, Contributing Writer, Out and About Illinois and the Bilerco Project
Phil Reese expounds on issues facing LGBT service members and service
candidates including issues for military families affected by DADT,
non-enlisted employees of the military, and transgender issues.
