Occupy the Courts: Move to Amend (2 years after the Supreme Court
ruling in the case, Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission).
January 20th. Noon. Be There. Or sit out on one more really important
movement of our time. BE THERE.

Friday, January 20, 2012
Time12:00pm until 1:00pm
Where
Champaign County Courthouse (within view of the Federal Courthouse),
101 E. Main Street, Urbana, IL
Description
Occupy Champaign-Urbana will use the People's Mic to illustrate why
corporations are not people and indict corporations for undermining
democracy by operating as legal persons when they are actually
institutions of power under the control of the 1%.

This action will take place on the second anniversary of the Citizens
United v. FEC Supreme Court decision so as to highlight the fact that
that Supreme Court decision, in assuming that corporations are people
and that money is speech, allows the 1% to use corporations to spend
unlimited amounts of money in promoting political causes and
candidates of their choice.

Corporations are not people. Money is not speech. We are the 99%, we
are people, and we are making our voices heard.
