PROMOTIONAL DESCRIPTION:
We've got passion, we've got ideas... but
sometimes that awesome project just doesn't start or doesn't finish, for
good reason or no reason. This tailored workshop will offer tools and
tactics for starting or keeping our passion alive by planning and
implementing DIY and DIO projects of all kinds, big and small.
Especially for folks with compromised schedules, chronic
procrastinators, burnouts, and those who just don't know where to begin
or how to finish.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
To support both personal
and social movement work, this workshop offers a period of composed
reflection, anticipation, and design to assist participants in
self-generating an understanding of where they are/come from and tools
to effectively work towards where they want to go, personally and
socially. It will leverage collective knowledge to provide insight on
the social consequences of reaching (or reaching for) the desired
differences, and will yield specific criteria for making personal,
social, and organizational decisions in light of these explorations, as
well as clearly defined objectives. Techniques will include knowledge
harvesting, small-group dialog, concept mapping, somatic brainstorming,
image theatre, collective analysis and synthesis, and participatory
strategic planning.
OBJECTIVE QUESTIONS:
What do you want? What are your resources? What are your inhibitors?
How will you accomplish it? What will happen if you get what you say you want?
How does the work you are doing impact what others want: personally, socially, systemically?
What criteria do you use to make decisions: personally, socially, organizationally?
