[I mis-spoke in my previous email. Sanchez is from South Carolina not
North Carolina. And, for what it is worth, an Illinois Congressman is
speaking up on this case. -karen medina]

March for Gabino Sanchez
"Help save an innocent man who is danger of being deported. Gabino
Sanchez, an undocumented Mexican immigrant, is currently facing
deportation, despite the promises of the Obama Administration for
prosecutorial discretion. Centro Sin Fronteras, an immigrant rights
organization based in Pilsen in Chicago, is rallying support for
Gabino and organizing demonstrations throughout the country, including
here at UIUC."

years old. For the next 13 years, he worked construction and
landscaping jobs in South Carolina to support his wife and two
children, who are legal U.S. citizens. Sanchez is not.

Sanchez had never been arrested until he was stopped for a traffic
violation and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement
(ICE). Sanchez did not have a driver’s license, and police suspected
he was in the country illegally.

“You’re going to fill your jails with plenty of Gabinos,” said U.S.
Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) when he visited ICE officials in
Charleston [S.C. ...]"
