Wonderful allies,

Thank you for help - letters to the editor and editorials, donations and
food drive, picketing and refusing work, and so much! - making a very
successful strike so far.  It appears that building and food service
workers have achieved an amazing near-hundred percent participation rate in
our strike in the first day.

We also know from leaks that management has been caught totally by
surprise.  We now know, for example, that UI's much-touted "plan" was
largely to hope that more SEIU members would be working, by a factor of a
dozen or so.

The impact is easily documented in trash not collected, buildings not
cleaned, deliveries not made, food quality in dining halls declining so
suddenly that students are posting images on Facebook of how bad it is, and
Building Trades work not done.  We have learned that some of our  better
paid managers are indeed scrubbing toilets and carrying heavy supplies.

We are covering an extraordinary number of sites, so your help in picketing
is especially helpful now.

We want to inform you all of a noon rally at the Illini Union on Wednesday.
 We certainly hope you will attend, and each organization will have a
speaker.

This big rally will be the culmination of our three day strike and
essentially our final push.  Anything you could do to get the word out is
greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
