Part-Time Line/Prep Cook for Vegetarian Restaurant, Channing Murray
Foundation, 1209 W. Oregon St. Urbana, IL 61801*

Channing Murray Foundation (CMF), local Unitarian-Universalist Campus and
Community Center, seeks a part-time Cook for our Red Herring Vegetarian
Restaurant to begin immediately. This position is responsible for doing
food prep, assembling made-to-order sandwiches and salads, working as
cashier, and washing dishes. Looking for someone who's flexible in the
workplace, has a positive outlook, and is passionate about healthy
vegan-vegetarian food.

We are especially looking for candidates with a strong work ethic, passion
and enthusiasm for UU principles and social justice, and an interest in
being part of a growing community center. Review of applications will begin
immediately and continue until the position is filled. This position can
range in hours between 15 hours to 30 hours per week, depending on what the
candidate is looking for/what is possible hours-wise.

*Required Qualifications*
• Must have a food sanitation license
• Must be available to work hour between 9am-3pm (not all hours, but within
this time range)
• Must be able to begin training by September 27th (Restaurant opens
September 30th)

*Preferred Qualifications:*
• Awareness of whole foods, healthy eating/nutrition, and veganism
• Knowledge of emerging trends within veganism and vegan cooking

*Candidates do not need to be affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist
community or identify personally as Unitarian-Universalist. It is merely
our hope that potential candidates share our progressive values of social
and environmental justice, peace, and cooperation/collectivism.

*Compensation:*
$9/hour with the possibility of a merit increase within a semester's time.
