Dear Stuart,

Can you imagine what life is like for those constantly under the threat 
of US killer drones?

If you’re like me, you don’t see drones as a solution to “boots on the 
ground.” Instead, it’s a saddening development that lets the US military 
put more distance between our own lives and the lives of the people 
killed by remote.

That’s why we helped IVAW members get to the Nevada desert to protest 
the US drone program outside of Creech Air Force Base this past week. We 
stood with over a hundred Veterans For Peace, Code Pink, and local 
organizers from Nevada Desert Experience as well as other groups and 
individuals. Activist and organizers worked together to *Shut Down 
Creech* for several hours.

As former military members, we brought a specific message to active duty 
drone operators:*We support you but not your orders; follow your 
conscience and resist! *

When I was in the Army, I was lead to believe that I had no choice but 
to follow orders. Now that I know that there are other options, I want 
to tell drone operators that they do have a choice to not take part in 
this war.*Thank you for being a part of a community of support that 
stands for those who follow their conscience. *
