It's important to oppose this bill in the Illinois State senate, SB1721, 
which would effectively force state pension funds to drop any company 
which boycotts businesses in Israeli settlements.

They're set to hear it at *10am Wednesday morning*.  Please, if you can, 
*before then* submit a witness slip indicating that you are opposing the 
bill. You can do this on line

Dear Stuart,

Yesterday, I emailed you to ask you to *submit a witness slip against SB 
1761*, a bill being considered by the Illinois General Assembly that 
would force state pension fund administrators to blacklist companies 
that boycott businesses that operate in “territories under the control 
of Israel." This bill infringes on the right to boycott human rights 
abuses and also legitimizes the Israeli annexation of the West Bank. [1]

The Executive Committee of the Illinois House is scheduled to consider 
SB 1761 *Wednesday morning at 10AM.* Before they consider the bill, they 
will take into account the number of Illinois residents who submitted 
witness slips in support and in opposition to the legislation.

*At writing, those in support of the pro-settlements bill have submitted 
60 more witness slips than those opposed!* [2] That means we need 
everyone who opposes this bill to make sure they submit a witness slip ASAP.

*If you haven't done so already, please take a minute to fill out a 
witness slip in opposition to the pro-settlement bill by following this 
link.

When filling out the witness slip, indicate “opponent”, “record of 
appearance only”, and enter the organization you represent under 
“representation” or just enter “self”. Make sure to spell out your 
organization (don’t use abbreviations). [3]
