Isn't the whole Kavanaugh show a bipartisan hoax?

Democrats don't have the votes to block Kavanaugh. Every Republican is
expected to vote to confirm. Republicans have the majority in the Senate.
Therefore, the ultimate outcome is a foregone conclusion. Therefore, the
"stakes" are zero.

Why the Kabuki? Why the pretense?

Isn't it just a fundraising and mobilization exercise for both parties?

Why should we, people who care about issues, waste any time or attention on
it?
