hi there lynsee,

thanks for checking in. after a lot of deliberation here at prometheus we decided that a housing board was way too
much work to maintain. we tried this out for the last barnraising, using software called spaceshare
(http://www.spaceshare.com) and it was 2 times as much work to maintain this page as it would be for one staffer at
prometheus and one volunteer at the host organization to have a spreadsheet they use to track housing. i am happy to
talk through the housing board problems with your housing volunteer.

very briefly, having organized housing at 5 different barnraisings, i will tell you that it isn't that much work to
organize housing locally, with full support from prometheus. really it's just that a local person needs to help
prometheus to connect with the homestay offer-ers, and to help to assure locals that these crazy people coming to
town are okay, even if they are disorganized.

danielle is putting together a survey that people can fill out to identify their offerings, which is great. locals
can fill that out and i and WRFU people can check that out too.

as for crash space, i have some numbers from the lincoln hotel -- we could get 24-hour-a-day access to 3 connected
medium-sized rooms with doors that shut. here are the specs:

Unlimited access to both the Maria Theresa and the Bismark Rooms from Nov 10th at 6:00pm to Nov 14th at 10:00am.

Dimensions on Maria Theresa . 25.5 x 12.5 feet = 312 square feet
Bismark . 23 x 14.5 = 333 square feet
Common Lobby = 12 x 12 = 144 square feet

this building is next door to the post office so great for crash space if people are really on-the-down-low about it.
the cost would be $600 for unlimited access and sleeping possibilities thursday night, friday night, saturday night,
and sunday night. sounds like a good deal to me, i'd say. prometheus will make a decision on what we'd spend on
this internally but i think it would solve many of our crash-space needs problems. showers would be available in the
hotel rooms of folks staying in the hotel proper. we might consider asking crash-space users to donate $5-$10 each
for the crash space usage, as it would defray our costs on the crash space.

i also have numbers for two somewhat-distant churches that we could potentially use as crash space. i'll call them
tomorrow.

let me know if you have any questions.
