[UC-ODDMUSIC] Oddbuzz

Hi all,

The Buzz (a local weekly) did a write-up of Oddmusic for the October 29 issue.  Get 'em while they're still around (Jacob & I want copies to mail to our mothers!).  I think they did a decent job describing some aspects of our project.

Th emphasis on "music as a science" seems a little off to me (how about "composition as a way of life" or "composing composing as a living practice" or "experimental music-making as a movement against stable hierarchies" -- oh wait, they didn't write about that because WE haven't written about that yet).  And what does this mean: "Oddmusic is for the passionate fan — one that does not see a defining quality to the art"?

Anyway, Jacob & I are mostly pleased, & hope we'll see some new faces in days to come as a consequence of th attention.

As always, you're invited to stop by during office hours - 7 to 9:30 on Sundays - or during th "microtonal composition study group" from 5:30 to 7 on Thursdays (if it would be of interest).  Also, if you'd like to start a conversation that hasn't been had, please do!
