We don't claim to "be" Oddmusic, but I do claim to have an interest in music-making

social dynamics in which a piece lives (its environment)</li><li style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;">there is an attempt to avoid a familiar language that can be understood in an old way</li></ul>Thus, Oddmusic is a Utopian project, & nothing less than that. When I use th word, I wish to speak of <i>intentional design toward th desirable</i> -- in music-making. <i>Oddmusic</i>, as I use it, is not th same as <i>odd music</i>.</div><div style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;"><br></div><div style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;">= = =</div><div style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;"><br></div><div style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;">ODDMUSIC URBANA-CHAMPAIGN functions as a nest for projects. We want to help make connections between projects that fit th criteria of "Oddmusic" in U-C & surrounds. That can potentially help give th projects coherence, legitimacy, & a
voice.</div><div style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;"><br></div><div style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;">Past projects of Oddmusic have included concerts, workshops, a library of acoustic oddities, dance-togethers, junk-builds, a Microtonal Composition Study Group, music lessons, invitations to compose, conversation groups, an open stage, an archive of scores, a blog, a radio guesting, & a rally-sing....</div><br><div style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;">Some proposed projects for 2010 include: a weekly radio show, a monthly Microtonal Sing, a new online interface for organizing ideas, photography projects, video projects, a concert of music for th udderbot... & what else?</div><div style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;"><br></div><div style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;"><b>Do you have a project or an idea for a project which can be friends with Oddmusic? Do you have an interest in helping make

We'll start a Calendar, a Discussion List (an email list specifically for planning -- separate from th Oddmusic Announce list), & we'll give away our power to call things Oddmusic. We'll have th means to follow up, to change our minds, to start a new thing, to let sit an old thing, to collaborate.</div><br><div style="margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px;">We could decide to schedule
meetings weekly throughout th year, if there's interest in that. Or bi-weekly.
