Hey All,

Due to the extreme [?]*Snow Day[?] *(Caps locked and bolded b/c I think we all
agree that it was kind of a big deal) orientation nights got a little
confused so I've decided to just email the entire list serve a recap of what
we went over on *Wednesday, Feb 2nd. *It is my understanding that the VIP
website said both of the Daycare orientation nights were canceled, so for
those of you who didn't come on Wednesday, no need to worry. There is no
penalty. Just make sure you all *read this email carefully. *

**To those of you who have requested to be taken off the list serve: You
don't have to read this. I've been having an issue with the list serve so
you haven't been taken off yet but don't worry, I will ASAP. In the mean
time, thank you for your cooperation**
***Also, Let me extend (again) to those of you who wish to be taken off the
list serve (and have not requested so yet) please feel free to reply to this
email telling me so***

*What we went over: *

   - There is an* application process *for each agency that Daycare
volunteers with. Because we are working with children, we have to invest
some time before being able to go for safety and legal reasons. This may
sound scary but *do not let this scare you away from volunteering* because
it is a fairly easy (and quick) process. It is mostly paper work.
   - Once we figure out which agency you are volunteering with, I can email
you the application or you can go online and do it yourself.
      - The *Orientation process *varies also, per agency. After you apply
and get approved, each agency will invite our volunteers (in groups) to get
oriented to the process and the facilities that we will be working in. This
   is also mandatory.
***The idea is that once I know what the groups are, we can start sending
   volunteers over *

**

   - *Coordinator Positions*: As mentioned at recruitment nights, we have
some coordinator positions open and we quickly went over that. I think that
for this year, I want to set up 2 coordinators per each agency we work with
just to assure that someone will be there at all times to answer questions
for volunteers and help facilitate ease of information. We have about 6 or
   so open spots to fill.
   - A coordinator is someone who is willing to do a little bit more work in
terms of investing time to Daycare.
      - You'd be required to hold ties with the Agency you are volunteering
at and report back to me and your volunteers (that go with you)
      - Compute hours of service (for each volunteer in your coordinator
group) weekly and turn in monthly
      - Attend meetings with other coordinators and the Director
      (monthly/bi-monthly)
      - Transportation is a plus, or the ability to facilitate
transportation of your volunteer groups via bus (or any other
means you see
      fit)
**Having a car is *not* necessary to be a coordinator, it just helps a
lot (esp for agencies that are a little bit further away)
      - *If this sounds interesting to you then please fill out the
attached coordinator
application form and turn it into the V.I.P. Daycare Mailbox in the
V.I.P. RSO OFFICE located on the 2nd floor of the Union by Wednesday,
      Feb. 9th.
***We will play it by ear once the applications are in, if i need to
      confuct interviews, I will
      - We also just went over what if's and situations that could happen,
which should be covered in the orientation and application process by the
   agencies

      - Once you commit, please stay with it

*Thank you thank you thank you & Final Notes:
*For reading all of that. I am so sorry, I know this seems like a lot of
information but really, it's not. Either way, it's a dense email and I know
how tough it is to get through these. This is why orientation is so
important to big groups like this because it helps get all of this out of
the way. However, we are doing the best we can despite the weather and other
unforseen circumstances. In the mean time, please look over the agencies and
browse their websites or think about what time you are willing to commit. I
will be sending out some google docs or what nots in the next couple of days
asking you what agency you want to go with and what times you can do, look
out for those.

Check the attachement(s) if you're interested in coordinator positions!

Finally, if you have any questions email me, facebook me, call me, text me
(all my contacts should be on the website or the brochures) Remember,* I am
here to help you! *and I am more than wiling to meet with you, in person, if
you need help understanding anything that was gone over in this email.

Toodles!
Eunice
