This weeks volunteer opportunities and other events:

Wednesday Feb. 7th is the next CUSR (Champaign Urbana Special
Recreation) orientation and you must go through one of these orientations in
order to volunteer with this organization. They do weekly, monthly, and bi
monthly events such as bowling, powerlifting, cultural cooking classes, and
special olympics that take place here on campus in the armory. The special
olympics include track and field, aquatics, basketball, and much more. If
you want to get involved and volunteer with this organization please come
out this Wed. at 6pm in the basement of the illini union right outside the
arcade room for the orientation.

Thursday Feb. 8th is the last orientation night of the spring semester for
recreation, so if you were unable to make the first one please come out and
learn more about the different organizations that we work with as well as
the volunteer opportunities they each provide. The recreation project has
added a new organization and has many new volunteer opportunities so come on
out and see what new things we have to offer. It will be held in the English
Building room 160 @ 6pm. Please be on time.

Friday Feb. 9th The urbana park district is having its 12th Annual Daddy
Daughter Date night from 5:30-9pm at the Park Inn Hotel. Please contact me
at dwade3 at uiuc.edu to confirm your attendance. The van will arrive at circle
drive at 5pm and will depart at 5:10pm.

Friday Feb 9th 2007 530-9pm  *Daddy Daughter Dance*- Volunteers would help
decorate and set up for event, help serve refreshments, and help with
activities. Please contact Paula Estock  Bishop3 at uiuc.edu
<kkfox2 at uiuc.edu>to confirm your attendance. The van will arrive at
5pm and depart at
5:15pm.

The Urbana Park District is looking for volunteer coaches for their youth
soccer teams. Practices begin March 12 or March 13. and games will begin
March 31st. Practices are either Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays
from 5:30-6:30pm. Most games are played on Saturday mornings, but there may
be some weeknight games. They are asking for a commitment of about
3.5-4hours a week for a total of 9 weeks. This could be a good way for
the
students to knock out some of their pre-internship hours. They will be
holding a coaches meeting the week prior to the start of practices. If you
