Hi everyone,

We are in the midst of moving the volunteers list to a new server.
Though we anticipate no disruption of service, please be advised that
there may be some quirkiness as we get everything set up again. You may
receive several messages stating that you have been (un)subscribed from
the list -- please ignore these.

As always, this list will remain very low traffic -- and now back to your
regularly scheduled volunteer opportunities:

1. FREE EGG HUNT!!! Volunteers are needed to assist staff with
registration, scattering of eggs, and staffing the perimeter of the hunt
(to keep track of wayward egg-frenzied kids) for the Urbana Park
District's egg hunt in Crystal Lake Park. Activities take place on March
30 from 9-11a.m. Contact Ellen Kirsanoff (367-1536) if you're interested
in helping.

2. The Champaign Park District strikes back: Lest you think that Urbana's
the only wild and crazy egg-hunting town around, Champaign Park District
is also looking for volunteers to set up an egg hunt for about 800
children in Champaign. Volunteers will help with registration, monitor
hunt areas, hide eggs and (here's the best part!) volunteers are also
needed who are willing to be costumed characters. The event takes place
on March 30th from 8-10:30a.m. in West Side Park -- breakfast snacks
(donuts, bagels, juice, etc.) are provided. Contact Sue Grey (398-2550)
if you've got the skills.

3. Early-bird, blue-plate special: Not to be outdone, from 7-10:30a.m. on
March 30th the Urbana Park District will be having "Breakfast with the
Bunny" festivities. Volunteers are needed to help set-up breakfast, the
crafts area, decorations, and will help to clean-up after the event is
over. Crafts are planned for kids to enjoy while they wait for their turn
to have their picture taken with the Bunny (the Easter Bunny that is).
Again, contact Ellen Kirsanoff (367-1536) if you're an early-riser.

4. The color blue symbolizes bruises on an abused child's body. To honor
the memory of children who have been lost to abuse, more than 1500
volunteers dressed in navy or royal blue will encircle West Side Park,
creating a blue ribbon around the parameter. People interested in
assisting with this effort should contact Karla Grimes
<Kgrimes at ec.chasi.org>. They especially need people to help coordinate
the family fun events on Saturday April 6th from 1-4 p.m. and to help
distribute blue bows, decorate blue bow boulevards, and participate in the
Blue Bow Campaign Kickoff.

5. MOVIE BUFFS WANTED!!! The Roger Ebert Overlooked Film Festival is
looking for volunteers to help do crowd control, concessions, ushers,
stage door attendants, merchandise sales, passholder registration and
check-in, VIP registraction and check-in, etc. etc. etc. They're looking
for over 175 people, so if you're a big group, here's the opportunity
you've been waiting for. Contact sgrey61 at hotmail.com if you'd like to
help out.

Tell them the Office of Volunteer Programs sent you,
