1. Hello! Guess what TIME it is???!!  It's time to get out there and get
involved!!! Interested in the Peace Corps, Americorps, or Teach for
America??  Then this is for YOU!!!  This is a non-profit Society Panel
Discussion held on Nov. 14th @ 7pm at the conference room on the 1st floor
of the Career Center (Student Arcade Building 715 S. Wright Street,
Champaign, IL 61820).  Informational/discussion session including Peace
Corps, Americorps, and Teach For America will be there. Come and find out
what each organization has to offer, and what the difference between them
are, and to get your questions answered about these groups!!

2. Bring a pet -- residents enjoy petting animals and meeting new people!
Share your musical talent ... do you play an instrument (violin, flute,
etc.)?  Share your artistic talent ... help us implement an art therapy
program! Be a friend -- visit with residents one on one.  Canterbury
Ridge, an Assisted Living facility in Urbana, is looking for volunteers
and staff to work with Trade Winds, their new memory loss program.  They
also have other opportunities if you would like to work with seniors and
make a little extra money, they have various part-time work available with
our memory loss program.  Come learn, have fun, add to your experience,
and make a difference in someone's life!  Contact:  Sara Yant at 328-3150

3. ***What could be better than saving a life?*** How about saving a life,
watching movies, free food, and a free t-shirt??????????  Come to the last
VIP blood drive of the semester!!!!!  You're donation is really needed!
This Tuesday Nov. 12th- Friday Nov. 15th from 10am-4pm in 314 of the union
(take the northwest stairs up).  Just be sure to eat at least 2 hours

4. Would you like to save money and help your community at the same time?
VOLUNTEER with Single Parent Scholarship Foundation, they are conducting a
fundraiser by selling Bergner's coupon booklets for a $5.00 donation and
we need help selling the tickets.  ALL proceeds from the sale will help to
fund single parents college expenses for the 2003 spring semester. The
more we sell, the more single parents we can help.  IF you are interested
in volunteering your time to help sell the coupon booklets or have any
questions please contact Maria Thompson at spsf at soltec.net, or 344-9265.

5.  "You may GIVE without LOVING, but you cannot LOVE without GIVING."
Warm-A-Kid Drive is here and collecting coats, hats, and gloves for
children.  Please bring items or mail donations to Office of Volunteer
Programs on 1401 West Green Street in Room 277 in Urbana.  Please deliver
items by Monday December 2, 2002 or contact the Family Information Center
at 351-3701 and they will pick up items.  If you have any questions please
contact OVP at 333-7424.

6. What do you do with your pop tabs?  "Throw them away" (badness) /
"Recycle them" (better...and yet...) What can you do with your pop tabs?
"Twist them off and save them."  Why save them?  "Pop tabs can be recycled
for a great cause!"  Join the Office of Volunteer Program with the
collection of pop tabs for Persons Assuming Control of their Environment
(PACE, INC).  More pop tabs=more money for PACE. If you are interested in
collecting pop tabs you can bring the tabs to the Office of Volunteer
Programs in room 277 Illini Union (RSO complex) or for more information
