1. Shop with a Cop Today!

help. There will be 5 or 6 kids for each cop so they may need
you as backup assistance. Contact Sylvia Griffith at 202-7384
as soon as possible. Volunteers are needed for Tuesday,
December 7 for a 3 hour commitment. Meet at 5:30PM at the
Urbana National Guard Armory at 600 E University in Urbana.

2. Holiday Cards for Senior Citizens

This Thursday, December 9, from 12PM-1PM, Volunteer Illini
Projects will be in the Courtyard Cafe in the Union making
holiday cards for senior citizens living in nursing homes in
the CU area. Come join the fun and bring a smile to
someone's face this holiday!

3. Sell Christmas Trees

The CU Optimist Club needs help at their Christmas Tree lot.
Any new volunteers will be paired with seasoned tree selling
veterans. It only takes a few minutes to learn the trade. The
C-U Optimist Club is a small organization that does some very
big things for under privileged children. The money to
support their programs and events comes from fundraisers like
the Christmas tree lot. Any able-bodied help would be deeply
appreciated. Need help as soon as possible. Call Rick
Langendorf to schedule times at 202-2103.

4. UNICEF Committee Needed

Every minute that passes by, 20 more children under the age
of 5 have passed away from preventable causes. Food, clean
water, healthcare, education, immunization, sanitation. These
are nothing special to us. Yet, around the world, these are a
matter of life and death to children who lack even the most
basic needs for survival.

The UNICEF campus group at UIUC encourages college students
to support UNICEF in their efforts of advocating and
providing a better life for children; and we are now
recruiting committee members/ officers to help out with our
events for this school year. The following positions are
open: Publicity/ Marketing, Awareness/ Education, and Public
Relations.

If you are interested, please fill out the committee
application document found at
