Carly-

The IMC used to host these, and I think they are a neat idea. It would be good to collaborate (or at least publicize to) the music, media, etc. departments in particular by contacting the individual professors and asking them to promote the even to their students (which tells the professors, too).

Woo woo! The outreach is something that Community Connections can help brainstorm, and the event is something that Shows would support, I bet.

Subject: [SDaS] proposal for listening events!

Hello all,

I am interested in starting a semi-regular listening event series in Urbana, to enable group engagement with longer format audio pieces. I can suggest a number of audio documentaries, features, and interviews, and it would also work for the 30-minute speech Susan suggested. I imagine there are also some long-format music compositions or other delightful things being unveiled at somesuch event (and are too long to play in full at a class session).

Thoughts? Interested?
