This is an example of a great ask for internships at the UCIMC.  I don't
think we should pay for interns any more unless it is for something bringing
in money.  I do think we can ask supporters of UCIMC to host an intern for a
summer, semester, etc.  It is a great way to allow someone without a lot of
cash but with space to give and to get an intern some real value without
having to pay.

If we don't get the VISTA position renewed, we absolutely have to have
someone on development for next year - maybe a few interns.

Roses Community Fund full-time for a year?

Each year, an international non-profit organization called United Planet,
places full-time volunteers with deserving non-profits.

Bread & Roses was invited to apply for one of these volunteers for next
year.

To keep it affordable, we're looking for a host family that would be
willing to house, feed and spend time with this volunteer.

Can you help by offering a spare bedroom in your house for 6-12 months? Or
are you curious about this opportunity but have questions and want to talk
it through more?

United Planet (UP) strives to create a world in which all people
understand, respect, and support one another. United Planet's global
network of leaders and volunteers fosters cross-cultural understanding and
addresses shared challenges to unite the world in a community beyond
borders.

We're excited that we have been asked to apply for a volunteer. Bread &
Roses is a small organization. With less than half-a-dozen staff, we do a
lot with a little. A full-time volunteer, however, could really boost our
efforts.

If we are lucky enough to get a full-time volunteer assigned to us through
United Planet however, they'll need somewhere to stay. And since many of
United Planet's volunteers are young--often just graduated from high
school or college--they could use a supportive and welcoming home to stay
in that will enrich their experience abroad.

If you think you fit the bill and want to offer a bedroom in your home as
a unique way to support our mission for racial and economic justice in the
Delaware Valley, please be in touch.
