I don't know if I'll be back yet next week can someone give the LINC students a tour? Is this something that falls within an AmeriCorps service area? As you can see, they are going to pick up the slack with out RSO, hooray!

Elizabeth-

This sounds like a great opportunity for this semester's LINC students! My mind is already flooded with ideas for promotion and campus engagement. I'm sure the students will feel the same way. 

Is there any chance that we could coordinate a tour and visit to the IMC next Tuesday, the 31st, between 5 and 6:20 pm? Last semester, Nicole gave us a great overview of the IMC and the working groups. Many of the students have not been to the IMC and are anxious to understand what you have to offer from a hands on perspective. 

Would you like to meet with Michael and I to further define the project? Perhaps at some point over the next week? Let me know!

So glad you have found our involvement to be helpful! I can't wait to start working on new projects at the center.

I absolutely rememnber you and what a great help you were to the IMC! I'm so pleased to hear from you, because YES, we absolutely have a project that we specifically thought that LINC could help with. 

The IMC has had RSO status for years, but hasn't been a truly student-based presence on campus for a long time. We are hoping that LINC can take on the project of promoting the IMC RSO on campus and recruiting students to join, so that we are a student group in practice as well as in name. We think this is a feasible project, and that it could incorporate a number of different aspects to meet various LINC student interests- graphic design, event planning, outreach, etc. This would create a bridge between the campus/town communities, and also provide students with opportunities to develop skills and media literacy.

John Flanagan,
 your co-LINCer from last year, has been working on a video that could also be incorporated into this project.

Elizabeth-

My name is Hannah Newman and I was in the LINC class last semester. I was part of the group that planned IMC fest and sang in Girls Next Door at the open house. I am now the new project manager for the Fall 2010 LINC group, taking Emily's spot.

I was wondering if you had any ideas for projects for the semester. Would you like to continue any of the projects from last semester, or repeat any similar ones? Any new ones come to mind that may fit the IMC's current needs? 

I, along with my co-manager, Michael Salazar, would be happy to attend meetings with you or other members of the IMC, just like Emily did, if you believe that will be an asset. 

Let me know where you would like to begin! We would love to get the new students in for a tour and introduction of the center later this week or early next week if at all possible.
