I'm still seeing the same results with the ath-lat-patch applied.  With 
SSID set to cntwireless.net I get a stream of "ath0: hardware error; ..." 
messages.  I can use 'ifconfig ath0 ssid cuwireless.net' to stop them and 
the same with cntwireless.net to start them again..
