Hi guys,
I spoke with Outreach about this, but haven't brought it up to video yet.
Early this next year, the university is working with the community to create
"International Education Week". It will take place February 25-March 6. I
was thinking this could be a really interesting outreach project to
introduce more people to the IMC. On their website, organizations can list
events taking place around town. It is pretty much free PR for anything that
seems to fit into their broad parameters of "international". So I was
thinking that we [the video group] should get in on this, and show some of
our "international" videos of resistance from around the world. Have a mini
international film fest one day during their dedicated week. It would be
pretty easy to set up, and might bring in a lot of people who have never
heard of us. Comments anyone???

Here is a bit more info on everything if you are curious....
International Education Week Planning Committee at the University of
Illinois is hosting International Education Week, "Exploring a World of
Opportunities Through the Illinois Lens" on February 25-March 6. We are
trying to involve the community as well as the campus in this celebration of
all things international.
