Good morning again,

I did want to share a couple of areas that we want to include in our
recruitment process. I'm sharing this message with all programs for their
consideration.

1. The position is full-time and require that the member works a 40 hrs
work-week. the hours are flexible based on the working group needs and must
be clearly illustrated in the member agreement. So we want to further state
to potential members, "what hours will work best for you?" in relation to
BTP needs, or any other working group/program needs

2. Based on the clientele that BTP serves, we want to address potential
fears, i.e. clientele that is viewed as dangerous, a type of work at which
the recruit many have little experience, a part of town that is unfamiliar
to the volunteer. Remember that all of the position include a great deal of
community outreach.

3. Recuiting for Diversity - Recuitment in this area can be effective if it
is matched with overall adjustments from the program, including assessment
of agency priorities to diverse community populations. We want to include
those with disabilities, youth, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, emigrant
populations or others outside the social and economic mainstream. (this is a
large part of the Independent Media Center's mission as well as its
Americorps partner groups)

These are a few area I wanted to share with the groups. If you have any
questions, please let me know.

Thank you all for your work.
