hi. i wonder how much work it would be to expland the banners so the site
can go back to full size. i thinkt hat it looks really silly as it is
right now. i know it looked silly before too, so why not fix it?

does anyone have interest in working on the site in this capacity? or in
the capacity of editorial/administrative work?

perhaps we should do a bit of online visioning...maybe the folks that are
interested in working ont his site could send a bit of a personal vision
for what this site will serve and how it could be used best? i think it
could be helpful.

personally, i had gotten involved at the allied media conference because i
didnt like the way it was being discussed, and it seemed that the folks
that were wroking on it, in all factions, then were a bit unresponsive to
folks they hadnt met.

now, we have a very slick looking site, and lots of good content. i know
there are a few tech things still being worked out. like getting
syndication back up to its original capacity and such. i also know that
the layout of this site is something that the global site would like to
mirror at some point in the future.

it seemed to me that there was not a long term vision for this site.
people wanted it to highlight national issues like elections, the dnc and
the rnc and things like that. now, the next thing that i can see being
majorly covered on this site is the inauguration...then what?

I would like to see this site highlight really good local independant
media, that is coverage of local events. It can serve as an example to
folks other places, they can see how things happened in x city and perhaps
do the same thing in their city. I think the global feature of victoria
secret actions helped a bit to spur more actions.

I dont know where I stand with this site long term. I dont personally
have the time to be completely involved right now. I can offer
suggestions and help anyone that needs help using mir.

I am just throwing all of this out, becuase it seems there is very little
activity. bradley has been doing alot of admin work, along with betsy and
tribal. a few folks have been proposing features to be promoted. john
has been working hard on the tech side of things. i have offered to help
with mir questions and have been doing that. and randomly, every now and
again, someone will come in and promote a feature from their local imc :-)

does anyone else see something awry? or feel that a bit more
participation should be in order, and that folks should at least say in
what capacity they want to be involved with this site? i am especially
eager to hear from the folks that I met at the allied media conference who
had seemed to be very excited about this.

thanks for reading through this long diatribe!
