Tribal Scribal brought up native american elements, which
i like, how can we do this in a good way? what would be a
symbol of native american resistance? The first thing that
came to mind was inclusion of Sitting Bull or Geronimo's
image. I just went to AIM's website (aimovement.org) and
found the very sitting bull image. Perhaps this would
work well as a collage element, and if AIM is using it, we
would be 'PC' OKAY, go to this page of their site, I think
we would be 'safe': http://www.aimovement.org/ncrsm/

I'm a little leery about an upside down flag, I don't know if
a lot of people know that it's a signal of distress...
I do like finding elements of hopeful resistance...
g.
Egads... I'm really not big on the inclusion of the
amerikkan flag, even
if it's as a protestors bandana... I like the collage one, but
it doesn't
to me have any defining symbols of the US... It is
important to provide
some readily recognizable symbols of the US, but I think
U$ legal tender
would be a much better symbol, perhaps a map of some
sort... I'd be
inclined to favor a burning US flag, but I suppose that
would alienate a
lot of folks. Alternately, what about an upside down US
flag, which is an
indication of distress, and shouldn't be interpreted as
"anti-American",
except for by extreme right-wing weirdos, while at the
same time not
alienating those folks who are afraid of indymedia.us
becoming some sort
of pseudo-nationalistic site?
