[IMC-US] starting work on the site

i'm working on the site this weekend. if anybody else wants to
help, please join the imc-us-tech mailinglist and let me know so i can
make you an account.

i'm going to be working from the design templates proposed by ana and
dan--it can be changed of course, but i'll work with this one for now.

upgrading dada on the us.indy site reverted a lot of the work max and i
had put into the design before, so i have to merge the changes back in.

i'm also going to apply ski's language autodetect patch. i also might
try out some optimization stuff...
