Congrats, man, huge congratulations. Thanks for putting so much work and passion
into the tour and its coverage.

Did anyone get back to you about how to force the page to refresh? It looks like
someone performed the task... Either way, for the sake of skillsharing:

I'm still pretty new to Mir, but there's a particular button to push under the
category Generate called "generate all new". Sometimes this doesn't happen
immediately as it's a task added to the que, but it usually happens within
10-15 minutes. Someone who's got more experience with this please chime in if
there's more that needs saying.

As far as process, there is no process. In theory, we all trust each other to
just post features as we individually feel they are needed. In reality, there
are obviously problems with this, though there is the huge benefit of
immediacy. Regardless, my own little personal process is to propose the story
via email and get at least 2 folks saying "yes, go for it"... I also will show
up in the #us room of chat.indymedia.org looking for agreement, advise, and
help with tech/editing (which is usually much needed and very helpful, among
being one of the few times I actually get to know at all many of the people I'm
relatively anonymously working with).

This lack of process kinda speaks to bht's call for decision-making processes...
To respond to that:

While I love the idea of individuals within affinity groups such as ours being
trusted to act autonmously, I think there needs to discussion of when this is
appropriate and when it might not be.

Plus, personally I feel like groups are stronger and stay together longer when
they can act effectively both collectively and individually, thus collective
decisions and processes are crucial for healthy organizing.

Also, there is the still very important concern that those ultimately posting
features are currently still invariably those with the most technical ability
and access to do so. One way to begin to address this is to have tech teach-ins
for us. Times when everyone who just signed up for admin can meet someone online
and get walked through the process. I know that's what happened (and worked
well, I think, for me). bht put a call out for docs with these tech
processes... I'm sorry, I haven't had time to check on the status of that. Has
this been started?

I remember hearing that there was going to be a US-IMC chat meeting... I'm
thinking Emily proposed it be on March 11 at 10pm Eastern. Is that correct at
all? Or am I totally getting this date and time wrong? Did I just miss it? I
hope not...

If my brain has completely turned to mush and the meeting's on for this
Saturday, can people make it? I fly out to Guatemala early the next morning,
but I'll be there with binary bells on if people are up for it.

By the way, Happy International Women's Day! The imc-women's list is full of
good (and some bad) news. I'm running off to Richmond's events right now.

X,
M.
