this is basically what i try to do as well, especially if i'm not
entirely certain if people would support promoting the article.

one useful process point i'd like to suggest is that we not take down
old articles. (i believe the original taco bell feature was hidden
after the victory one went up).  i'd prefer to see old articles remain
around, as i think it provides a useful historical view on the events
we cover.

i'd also maybe like to see shorter start page specials (a couple of
lines or so), linking to longer features/topic pages, rather than big
startpage specials which float in and out of the top position.

but these are minor quibbles, really. overall, the folks who did the
indy.us coverage of the truth tour did a fantastic job.  here's hoping
indy.us can continue to facilitate such awesome media making.

and hot damn, the CIW won!
