I will be attending this picket representing the Cham. County Living
Wage and I hope you can make it too. I will have our picket signs in my
truck in the parking lot somewhere near the north (back) door of the
Brookens Building.

This picket will be important to increase the pressure for the County to
do something about the poor wages they pay as the election nears. I will
be attempting to cover it for the IMC, but I will also be a participant.
I will have the minidisc, etc, but if someone would volunteer to help
with the recording, it would be great.

ATTENTION!!
ALL AFSCME MEMBERS!!

YOUR UNION BROTHERS ARE CALLING FOR YOUR SUPPORT! CHAMPAIGN COUNTY IS
AT IT AGAIN!

We want to gather everyone together for an informational picket at the
next Champaign County Board meeting.

We want to have our voices heard loud and clear starting at 6:15 p.m.
October 24, 2000 on the north side of Brookens Administration Building
at 1776 E. Washington Ave. Urbana.

The employees have been fighting for over a year now to get a fair wage
and benefit package. The best the County can come up with so far is a
wage increase that is far less than any other county employee has
received.

Champaign County works because we do!

Directions to Brookens Admin.; from the south on Rt. 130, go past TK
Wendls to Washington Ave.. Turn left and go about 2 miles to Lierman,
Turn right and go one block to the entrance of the north parking lot for
Brookens.
