(Apologies for cross-posting. Just getting the word out while it'll do the
most good - jb)

Despite the great weather, lots of Urbana folks still haven't voted. A
gentle nudge in the right direction can help loads. Here's the lowdown for
Urbana races (polls are open 'til 7; all polling places are the same as
last November):

Laura Huth, Ward 5, will be doing Get-Out-The-Vote this afternoon.
Volunteers will be meeting at her place by about 2 p.m. Anyone with a cell
phone (or who can take lists back home and call from there) is especially
URGENTLY needed. Volunteers can call her at 367-7254.

Milt Otto, Ward 7, is doing phone-banking at Champaign County Health Care
Consumers, beginning at 2 p.m. Volunteers can call him at 337-1124 to sign
up, or just show.

Danielle Chynoweth, Ward 4, is looking for volunteers to help with
door-hanging in her ward to remind voters to get to the polls. Things get
underway at her place (1006 S. Garfield) at 3-4 p.m. Volunteers can call
her at 344-0183.

Al "Write-In" Weiss is still relying on word of mouth to get people out.
Make a special trip to your Urbana polling place, if you haven't already,
to check out our environmentally sound re-use of those Nader/LaDuke signs!
Volunteers can contact Al directly (mailto:awweiss at uiuc.edu).

And of course, I hope everyone can get their friends and neighbors to the
polls. Low turnout means real opportunities for an activist effort to make
a real difference RIGHT NOW. Milton's and Laura's races are expected to be
especially close.
