Membership Categories and Space Rental  Adopted 2/11/01 by the Steering
Committee


MEMBERSHIPS:

All members will fill out a membership form to be sent to the
fundraising/finance committee.  Payment is up front unless worked out with the
fundraising/finance committee.

Individual Memberships:
COST:  $50/year minimum (donations above $50 will help subsidize other
membership categories); $25/year for low-income; and less in cases of extreme
financial hardship 
BENEFITS:
        •  ability to join news collective or focus group
        •  library materials check-out privileges
        •  space rental at membership rates for personal use
        •  discounts on select merchandise (e.g. mass market books &
periodicals,   
media production equipment)

Organizational Memberships:
COST:  $120/year 
BENEFITS: 
•  place library materials on reserve
        •  12 hours free space use per year
•  additional space rentals at membership rates

Resident Organization Memberships:  
a consistent policy will be determined in consultation with the groups
interested in this service.

SPACE RENTAL:
The Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center rents space to members and the
general public for personal use.

Space Rental  Membership:  
        •  $10-20/hour sliding scale 
        •  $50 for up to 8 hours of use, must specify time in and out
        •  reductions are available by negotiation with finance (fundraising)
focus group
        •  members must sign an agreement to negotiate repair of damages with
IMC

Space Rental  General Public:
        •  $50/event up to three hours
        •  $15/hour beyond three hours
        •  $100 deposit for cleaning and security
