========== IP Tree-cutting hearings...
7:30 pm Wed Jan 17 - Urbana City Council Chambers
6:00 pm Thu Jan 18 - Champaign City Council Chambers

Subject: Local public hearings for citizen input on saving the trees

Your Chance to Give Input on Saving the Trees Locally

Each of the cities are holding public hearings ... so residents
can voice concerns about Illinois Power's radical tree cutting
proposal. While these hearings are not a truly part of the formal ICC
hearing process, both cities will be forwarding the comments they
receive at these meetings the Illinois Commerce Commission through
that formal process.

Urbana's public hearing will be held in the Urbana City Council
Chambers (400 S. Vine Street) at 7:30pm Wednesday, January 17.

Champaign's public hearing will be held in the Champaign City Council
Chambers (102 N. Neil) at 6pm Thursday, January 18.

Both cities are filing to intervene in the case before the Illinois
Commerce Commission and will be represented by legal counsel when
those hearings are held in Springfield later this year. The purpose
of the January 17 and 18 hearings is for the cities to gather citizen
input.

Please share this message with your friends, relatives, and neighbors
and encourage them to attend the meetings. If you cannot make to your
own city's hearing, please attend the other hearing. Bring relevant
photographs, posters, and stories. To ensure your comments are
recorded accurately and entirely, if possible provide the city with a
written version at the meeting and read it at the meeting.

Thanks!
