STEERING MEETING 				JULY 29 12:00 PM


I.  INTRODUCTIONS
	
	Random people in attendance.

II.  REPORTS

	A.  LIBRARY (Ellen)

	-Library group shall not meet until sept 1. because there is no one
availible to run an official meetin  An official kick off will be planned in
the fall.
	-A new check out procedure is on its way.
	
	B.  OUTREACH
	
	-Co-op meeting?  Most likely sometime...somehow... 
	
	C.  FINANCE
	
	-All groups are operating under budget.  Information gathered so far
is inconclusive to predict future spending.  There is a possibility of
future fiscal sponsorships (discussed below).As always, the IMC needs more
money.
	
	D.  NEWS GROUP
	
	-Possible change of name to correspond with the radio show and avoid
general confusion.  There is concern that this would cease the function of
the group to manage stories and follow-ups.  The newsgroup and sterringgroup
will meet to discuss this issue.
	-There is a need to have a better flow of news ideas to the radio
and print group. 
 	-Printdistribution is complete of vol.1 iss.1.
	-Issue 2 is progressing..
	
	E.  Tech
	
	-The new version of active software for the site is almost applied.
	-There is a new member who can hack and fix everything electronic.
	-Minor cosmetic changes to the site will be done to improve
function.  The banner picture will be changed and realigned, fonts will be
larger, borders will be added, and minor colour changes will be applied to
the side bar.  
	
	F.  MISC.

	-The IMC has been rearranged and a refidgerator is on its way.

III.  OLD BUS.
	
	A.  MEMBER MANAGMENT
	
	-Postcards will be sent to all members (200).  Est. postage is $40.

	B.  Facilitator Schedual

	-There is a schedual.

	C.  Amy Goodman
	
	-Amy is not coming in August, but may reappear in September.

	D.  Streeet Theater Fest

	-Facilitators are needed for the volunteers.  5 people are needed
for various duties.  The list of volunteers will be called and a schedual
will be created.

IV.  NEW BUS

	A.  REGIONAL IMC MEETING
	
	-Molly is coordinating for fall, most likely late september or early
october.  This may be a large meeting of all midwest IMCs and other
independant media organizations.

	B.  GARAGE SALE @ PAUL ND ELLENS

	-Sept. 7 at 7:00 pm.  Setup will take place at around 5:00.  All
revenue is going straight to the IMC general fund.

	C.  FICSAL SPONSORSHIP

	-The IMC can sponsor groups and people whos goals fit under the
IMC's mission.  They then use the IMC's non-profit status to apply for
grants.  The IMC is then allowed to t	ake a percentage of the money.
However, the IMC is also liable for what the sponsored group te	lls us that
they are doing.  Ficsal sponsorship allows the IMC to network with people
doing similar things. The finance group would be able to choose who to
sponsor.

	D.  PUBLIC I
	
	-The name has already been used.  Conversation is taking place with
the existing publication.

	A.  Changes in newsgroup.

	B.  Regional IMC meeting.
