news group or with producer.

belden fields) Data base is going well? Mike x doesn't know

Tech -AV wiring wwa s done on sat; not complete job there is coaxial that
allows closed circuit tv; mic/line-level from front production room-went
through wall rather tah will be wiring into patch bay. Put up community
calendar and groups database-there is a bug but it will self correct. Dan
Lewart has been helping a lot. Ellen suggests all focus groups put
meetings on online calendar.

Old business

Personnel policy-informal or formal? Anybody could take a complaint to an
empowered spoke for action by the steering committee as a whole, on the
theory that it should be possible to find someone on the committee that
the complainant would feel comfortable talking to. Ellen some way to leave
to discretion to spoke (whether to resolve informally). If someone with
complaint wants to bring it formally - paul concern with leaving too much
emphasis on informality-if someone who is approached with a complaint they
should tell the rest of the committee, even if it's being dealt with
informally. Consensus on this last point.

Print group report-working on a structure written by sascha and
sarah-editorial structure. Ed board-open committee, with min.
specification 1-2 people from each topic area. Working on a statement that
group tries to put as much of writer's intentions into print. Tentative
first edition july 3. DC question funds for first print run? Not known
yet. Approx hoy much? $300-500 - 3000-10,000 copies. Possible conflicts
fwith 501 c3? (mike): paul we wont publish unsigned editorials, and
disclaimer should cover it. Mike another concernt : editorial
concern-print medium is different from online-limits of space. Much
discussion: if in consensus process with aim towards cooperation, people
will step forward and back as necessary. THe editor will not signle
handedly chop a story, but discuss with writer. Dc question-print group
moving toward being a working group? Paul thinks so.

Ellen: National radio project-news group discuss? DC: Yes, looked at
requirements for syndication. There's a desire to look for possibilities
with - 50-50 split of funds with imc and news producer? Yes approved for
now nta radio project asking for pieces for sun, paying 150-200 per
piece; we thought people who produce pieces with imc equipment) ; weft:
syndicated relationship? Paul: Not out of question that weft could pay
imc, but not as much as Nat radio project. DC starting dialogue with weft
about some kind of funding-joint fundraiser? Earmark donations for joint
weft-imc ? Will probably form a group to work on this. Talk to Danielle if
interested in working on this.

Event fundraising-space group proposal (read in text here) working group
responsibility for event a requirement for imc sponsorship. People who
work to set up entitled to 25% of donations, up to $100. DC advocates
outreach-ethos. Aproved by consensus.

New business

Membership meeting-Ellen: our structure requires 2 per year-Ellen willing
to take some leadership to make sure this happen-proposing end of July-to
inform funders what we've been doing; present a mission statement? New
slogan? Ellen asks about timing: end of july seems ok. DC offers to help
with legwork, getting people there, agenda planning. Ellen thinks it
should be open meeting. Sascha we should bring a proposal for mission
statement if we're going to present it there.

IMC sponsored event request-Jeff Glassman imc host next weekend: Pastors
for Peace caravan to Cuba; this year's focus bring ideas of alternative
transportation and energy, bring back ideas for medical care; next week
Caroline McKenna speaker in town-imc host a lecture by her. Brian bringing
to steering group because of timing. Propose June 10 Sunday evening,
potluck or sat or Sunday during the day. This weekend most convenient,
though a different PfP person could be invited from Chicago later, or host
the actual caravan when it comes through. DC question-Brian and Jeff
liason? BH for IMC, Jeff for McKenna. DC supports this proposal: when PFP
came through at Arc there was influx of new people. Not a religious
advocacy organization. Sarah-wants to see it happen here, but IMC can't
sponsor it - 501 c3 concerncs (advocacy of breaking the law) treat as
rental. Proposal is not a fundraiser, but a lecture on history of cuba.
Concern withdrawn . Ellen-space available-yes. Publicity? Brian can make
posters but needs help with distribution. Paul R can help with some.
DC-finding the supporting communities-email, word of mouth; PSA on WEFT.
McKenna will be speaking at 2 churches. Suggested donations? Not a potluck
but some food. Approval of event; Brian will decide distribution of 25% of
door for work.

Equipment policy discussion tabled for next time. Paul K is working on
check-out procedure, but doesn't want to propose policy. Paul can make a
proposal for use policy. Sarah suggests requirement of membership.

Next agenda - membership meeting; equipment policy.

Ellen will facilitate next meeting.
