[Imc] Production Room Fan

The much-anticipated production room ventilation fan was installed
Monday evening. It was a mess, but well worth it from initial results. I
checked the P room at 4pm Tuesday afternoon and it was decidedly cooler
than before. I believe there was only one computer operating overnight,
so this may not be the total solution to excess heat that we hope for,
but first indications are positive.

Right now, the switch needs to be rewired. It presently lights
regardless of whether the fan is running or not. I've found the diagram
to get it wired so that it lights only when the fan is running; it will
be rewired as soon as I can arrange someone to shut down the intraner
router and restart it, about a half hour process or less.

I recommend that we leave the production room door closed (locking it
when not in use is more secure) and the fan running fulltime. This
should ensure maximum cooling for the summertime, as I suspect that
upstairs has air conditioning that we can pull down through the floor
(it's not airtight) to our advantage by keeping the P room door closed.

It seems that the fan is relatively quiet, but experiment to find out if
it makes enough noise to shut down it down while recording. Paul K. has
been using a microphone placement in a chair diagonally across from
Sergei in there to record, but the chair has been previously ends up
being right under where the fan is now located. Moving away from right
underneath there may be quiet enough; I'm not sure, but try it and see
what happens. If you do turn off the vent fan to record, do turn it back
on when done.

I'm submitting this report in advance as I will not be able to make the
Space Group meeting Wed. evening. I do wish to ask that the story on the
new access ramp that I wrote last week should be put in the Feature
section of the IMC mainpage for maximum exposure. Also, that any
feedback on access issues, including the availability and use of the new
ramp, be brought to our attention.
