IMC Tech Meeting Notes 6/13/01

Attending: Paul R., Ellen K., Dave Y., Dan L., Brian H.

We got a donated a Pentium 200 PC w/ 32 MB RAM and 4 GB HD and plan to make
it a linux-based file-server and Real Media server. This will allow us to
access project-files from any machine in the IMC. It will also allow us to
provide higher-quality audio and crude video streaming for our projects
(better quality requires more Internet bandwidth=$$$).  Installation of the
software will take place at the next meeting 6/20 at 6:00 PM.  Dave will
bring a Debian CD, along with Samba (for Windows filesharing) and Net2Talk
(for Mac filesharing).  Paul will bring a Real Server CD.

Dan will make a few fixes to the website, including prettying up the events
calendar, and making the IMC logo on the top left of the page clickable to
return you to the home page.  He is waiting on a CVS book (computer lang
book) to proceed with the upgrade to the newest Active software running our
site.
