[Imc] GirlFest and IMC

Girlfest is coming to C-U, and the IMC should get involved in this for at
least two reasons.

1) It's the right thing to do

2) Grantmakers like (really really like) nonprofits who work with girls and
youth. We already kinda do, but this could be something we could point to
more definitively and confidently then saying we have some very cool and very
active teen women in our group.

3) If we provide services to GirlFest, we get good press in all their
releases as a "co-sponsor". We need part with no money for this privilege.

I already volunteered the IMC to be a drop-off site for GirlFest's art
workshop donations. This is no more resource intensive than labeling a
cardboard box "GirlZone Art Donations" and keeping it near the front door. We
have cardboard boxes aplenty.

But involvement needn't end there. Mike Ullmann is coordinating a technology
and computer workshop for GirlFest, and he has directly solicited the help of
the IMC/individuals in the IMC to help teach computer skills or audio editing.
There is also a "girls and women in the media" workshop in the making, which
some of our media scholars or just plain outraged folks could assist with. To
help Mike email mikeu at shout.net. Or to help with the media workshop (or
Girlfest in general) email Aimee Rickman at arickman at prairienet.org.
