WILL-TV INVITES CENTRAL ILLINOIS RESIDENTS
TO COMMUNITY FORUM ON TRAGEDY

WILL-TV will air a live community forum, Illinois Voices: U.S. Tragedy, at 7
p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, giving central Illinois residents the opportunity to
discuss how terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., have
affected their daily lives. The station invites central Illinois residents
who would like to participate as part of the audience to sign up to attend
by calling 217-333-1070. Producers are seeking participants from cities and
towns across central Illinois.

WILL-TV's John Paul and Alison Davis Wood will host the one-hour discussion,
which will focus on the issues of how families are coping with the tragedy,
how schools have been handling student concerns, personal safety from
terrorism, possible effects on civil liberties, and how people are handling
grief related to the incidents.

"People have been discussing the attacks around the water cooler and at
home. They've been listening to what the national media have to say," said
Paul. "We wanted to create a community dialogue."

Experts will be on hand to address concerns of the audience. Viewers are
also invited to email questions and comments ahead of time and throughout
the broadcast to talkingpoint at will.uiuc.edu.
