Hello, this is San from the OHMS media collective and NYCIMC-Video. I am just one of the many people who helped produce the video “How the WEF was Won,” a collaboration between OHMs and NYC-IndyMedia. The documentary is for sale individually for:
$18.50 or $20 each VHS, includes shipping
$13.50 or $15 each SVHS

We have also arranged a screening package and hope that your individual IMC can screen the video as part of a benefit or maybe as part of an event you already have planned. The package will be:

A mini DV master $67.00 ($65+2.00 for shipping)

We can sell you the videos at a bulk rate of $7.50 a piece. This is a 50% mark down. So you can sell them for $15.00 to raise money for whatever cause you like.

Please email ohmies at yahoogroups.com, with an address if you are interested.

Thank you,
San

How the WEF Was Won

Now Available on VHS!

January 30 – Feb 4, 2002. The World Economic Forum met in New York

City. In a nation slipping into recession, a city still reeling from 9/11,

this elitist club of businessmen, politicians, and world leaders convened to

make decisions about the world and its peoples. Thousands of protestors

converged as well, under the close watch of a large police force with a lot

to prove. What happened was historic; in a new political climate, people still

came together to raise their voices against corporate globalization.

But one could not tell by watching TV. The mainstream media showed the

event myopically, as a conflict between belligerent protestors and police.

Once again the mainstream refused to delve deeper into what was truly happening

and what was really at stake.

But they were not the only ones watching. NYC Independent Media

Center, Big Noise Films, OHMS, and countless others were there too. Not since

the WTO protests in Seattle has there been such a gallant effort to supersede

the narrow view of a mass convergence of activists by the networks. Hundreds

of people came together with their minds, dedication, and equipment to document

and create a space where all could be heard.

The result is How the WEF Was Won, an hour-long documentary. This

vibrant and searing piece brings to light the events surrounding the meeting

of the World Economic Forum. From the protests on the cold streets of NYC, to

the World Social Forum in Brazil, to inside a private party at the WEF itself,

How the WEF Was Won shows it all. The documentary puts forth a collective

viewpoint of the event, and reports and raises questions about the real facts

and issues.
