April 22, 2013: The City of Urbana is accepting public input on the City's Draft Sustainable Water Management Plan via the City website.

The Draft Sustainable Water Management Plan lays out activities to conserve and protect potable water, improve surface water quality, address flood management, and assess recreational waters in the City of Urbana.  The 26 actions called for in the plan utilize a variety of strategies including upgrading municipal facilities, public education and engagement, review of policies, and research into existing conditions.

The City of Urbana will host an Open House with light refreshments where the public can review and discuss the plan with City staff and the Sustainability Advisory Commission as well.  The Urbana Sustainability Advisory Commission meeting will follow the Open House at 7pm.
