Indi go Artist Co-Op is pleased to present *Cut and Paste*, new works by
Alan Pocaro and Michael Willett. This is the artists’ first exhibition with
the gallery.

In *Cut and Paste*, both artists explore the pastiche nature of
contemporary life via the curious juxtapositions inherent in their
mixed-media images.  Willett’s work focuses on a series of collaged
exhibition advertisements from the leading contemporary art
periodical, *Artforum
International*.  The images are dissected and reinterpreted while
addressing a wide variety of references including popular culture and
philosophical concerns.

Combining paint and images of Americana from sources such as *Life Magazine*and
*UFO Skeptic*, Pocaro binds a flurry of visual languages in an effort to
create a series of alternative realities that coexist tensely on the
pictorial surface.  Rooted in a physical engagement with a world that is
constantly in flux, the images *Cut and Paste* are a statement of existence
that bridges the divide between the internal world of the self and the
external world of sense-things.

ALAN POCARO (American b. 1978) lives and works in Illinois. Recent
exhibitions include *Time and Distance* at the Carnegie Center for Visual
and Performing Art Covington, Ky; *Still* at the Fitton Center Hamilton,
Oh; *Small Works* at Trestle Gallery New York, NY.

MICHAEL WILLETT (American b. 1982) lives and works in Alabama. Recent
exhibitions include *New Faculty Exhibition* Bloch Hall Gallery, University
of Montevallo, Montevallo, Al; *Two Kinds of Ha Ha Ha *Meyers Gallery,
University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Oh;  *Ugly Portrait Series*,
Semantics Gallery, Cincinnati, Oh.
