Coppice is a Chicago duo that will be performing this Sunday, November 3rd,
at Pizza M. Local guitar man Johnny Ridenour will be supporting.

Based on their previous releases, it has been suggested that Coppice should
be called *"the elite of the new avant-garde"*, and that their music
is "*musical
narrative at its highest potency." *However, the most intriguing and
attractive aspect of their existence is the instruments that they compose
for: prepared pump organs and an array of customized boom boxes, karaoke
machines, and transmitters. The music wheezes and huffs, crackles and fires
like a proto industrial start-up factory, yet it hums like a beautifully
tuned gust of wind. Coppice exists in their own scene. They are also very
purposeful with their art. Right in front of so many ears, Coppice is
creating music that is so unique, and so clearly their own. It is a rare
skill to witness. Here is a great opportunity to witness it live, and up
close.

I have also invited you to download a folder of high quality mp3 files of
Coppice's latest composition "Big Wad Excisions" (available at itunes and
your favorite record stores on Oct. 29), a digital booklet, as well as a
press one-sheet.

Thank you,
Tim Barnes
