Constituents go looking for Congressman

*[Champaign, Taylorville, Decatur, Bloomington, IL] — *Residents from the 13
th congressional district will send a caravan of vehicles across the
district next Wednesday, September 25th in search of Congressman Rodney
Davis. The “Where’s Rodney?” campaign is a grassroots effort to pressure
Congressman Davis to fulfill his commitment to attend a community meeting
on Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

On July 1st at a meeting with community members, Rep. Davis agreed to
attend a community meeting to share his views and hear from the community
on immigration reform. However, after more than 10 weeks of trying to set
a meeting date and time with his staff, community members have concluded
that he has gone into hiding to avoid being accountable to the people in
his district.

*Quote:* “Like so many career politicians, Congressman Davis has broken his
promise. His staff says they are worried he will be criticized in public,
but if he is afraid of his constituents – why did he run for office in the
first place? How does he expect to represent the 13th District if he won’t
meet with community residents?” questioned community member Mike Doyle.
“Well if he is in hiding, we are going to send out a search team to see if
we can find him.”
