I'm about to head to Chicago but can someone follow up with Amber today
about Zombie Prom? I only got the one reply from Gergana that she can help
but I think more people were interested then that. Maybe ask on the FB page
or create an event or something?

Thanks,
  Jeff

Hey! So what’s the word for the 22-24? I’m finalizing things and want to
get my emails sent out asap to let everyone know duties, etc.

Thanks again for having us be a part of the Maker Fest, it was a really
great day!

Amber

We have talked but I emailed the details to the list and asked for people
to contact me back if they can come. I'll keep you posted! Thanks for
poking me again, I've been pretty deep in maker fest stuff so that was
helpful!

Thanks

  Jeff

Hey!

Have you had a chance to speak with some other makerspace folk and find out
who is for sure helping with Zombie Prom and the costume workshops? Should
I plan to see you, Gergana, and Monica?

Just wanted to check up on things :)

Hey!

Ok. So here's where we stand with things right now.

October 22 & 23, 3:00-5:30

Zombie Costume Workshop

We are currently collecting clothing from staff that we can dismantle at
the costume workshops. I still have lots of zombie blood, and stuffing, in
case we want to add on any additional appendages to people's outfits. We'll
have a few volunteers already there who we can recruit to assist, but they
don't all have experience with sewing machines, so they may be patchy at
best with their ability to help.

If there's any particular supplies you want us to have available, please
let me know asap and I'll pick them up before the workshops. We are
planning to borrow a few sewing machines from the Fab Lab (Judy--I spoke to
Jeff, but please remind him to bring the machines by 10/21) so we should
have at least 4 available for the teens to use. Does that sound like
enough?

Then, moving on...

October 24, 6:30-9

Zombie Prom!

Set up begins around 4:30, I think...

We'll have several different activities:

Makeup (in auditorium hallway by bathrooms)
Photo booth (in middle closet of auditorium)
Minute-to-win-it games (auditorium activity)
Build a skeleton with q-tips and marshmallows
draw a monster on a plate on top of head
                Mummy race (with TP)
Build a skeleton with milk jugs, zip ties, coat hangers (auditorium
activity)
Frankenstein-- Bring things to life program with Fab Lab folk (auditorium
activity)
Costumes (yay! In conference room)
Costume contest (auditorium activity, later in the night)
Personalize your cup (stairwell)
Sticker station (stairwell, at cup station)
CLUE—Who ate Mr. Body? (auditorium activity--convert room into giant Clue
board)

I've figured out we'll need 3 shelvers and 7-8 volunteers, in addition to
the 3 librarians staffing the program (Joel, Lynn, and me)

Entrance-1Makeup-2
Photobooth-1
Auditorium-2 (possibly Fab Lab folk?)
Hallway (food duty)-1
Stairwell-1
Conference room-2-3

I currently have 3 shelvers and 2-3 volunteers scheduled to be there,
which means we still need 4-6 more people (I'm still checking with TOL
volunteers, but I'm hoping for at least 3 from Makerspace). Do you know how
late the Makerspace crew (who are willing to volunteer) plan to stay? Will
they work in shifts, or the whole evening?

Here's a rough schedule for the evening:6:30-8 Makeup & Costumes
630-7 snacks, mingling, music
7-7:30 minute-to-win-it games, beginning of Build a Skeleton
7-8 Build a Skeleton & Frankenstein table (with Fab Lab crew, still working
out details with Jeff), with snacks and music
8-9 Costume contest & life-size Zombie Clue

I haven't 100% finished the details, but this is how it's looking right now.

Please let me know who from Makerspace will be volunteering, and what their
emails are, so I can include them in the official "Countdown to Zombie
Prom" email in the next week or so.

Thanks again for helping, we're very excited about our 3rd Annual Zombie
Prom!
