Judy,

Thanks for letting me know, and thanks for your time with the
station. Hopefully your schedule will permit you to get involved with
the station again at some point in the future.

Membership: we have two new open slots, Sunday 3-5pm and Tuesday
8-10am. Coupled with the Wed 8-10pm slot (which I don't think anyone
came forward to fill) we've a number of new openings in the schedule.

Further to our discussion last Saturday, I'd be interested in us
using this opportunity to think about how we want our schedule to
develop - I know I've a number of ideas in this regard, and I'm sure
others do too. Obviously our current rules first give existing groups
a chance to switch into an open slot, but I wonder if we could then
step back and think about how our overall schedule might look, and
how we might encourage/foster future changes in that direction.

Some ideas:
- Keeping various timeslots open, as we already do for Saturday
evening simulcasts, for special programming. We're already using some
of the Saturday afternoon slots for the once-off outreach shows in
May and June. Perhaps we could look at more of that.
- Creating multi-hour blocks of similar shows, or strips of similar
shows across days. Examples: Creating a 'public affairs' block/strip
of local programming, or a block/strip of religious content. Much
religious programming is currently scheduled in the mornings, while
public affairs content is distributed in late afternoons and some
evening slots. The syndicated public affairs block currently airs
4-8pm when there's no local programming.
- Ensuring that local programming happens in long blocks, with
automated programming also happening in blocks.

Incidentally, the website is back in order.
