[rfu-membership] WRFU.net user name?

I also have a question about the forms which I should know, since I helped make them.  It asks for my WRFU.net username, and I don't remember what this is, or what it is used for.
   
  Is it possible for the username to be looked up, and could someone explain to me why each member  needs one?
