[Rfu-station] RFU Meeting Minutes Nov. 20 2007

We had about ten members present and the attendance sheet was passed around.

Tech Group report:

New speakers were added in the lobby to replace the boombox formerly 
there. These speakers are controlled from the silver compact audio 
system to the left of the control board in the studio. There is a mark 
on the volume knob at the level for reasonable sound level in the lobby, 
so please do NOT turn them up higher than that.

The blown speaker in the studio monitor has been replaced, so we now 
have stereo monitors in the studio. Please take care to NOT over-pump 
the studio monitors or we’ll be back to mono again!

The following schedule changes were approved:

Habari Connection asked for some reshuffling of their slots. Friday 
6-8pm will switch from being Habari Connection News to Word Up Radio 
(same programming group, different time/name). Habari Connection News 
will move to an existing open slot on Sunday 10am-noon.

Nomadic Coral Reef is granted a permanent slot Thursday 8-10pm, per the 
agreement at a previous station meeting for them to consistently fill 
this slot occupied by known non-renewing shows (Muse and Serenity).

Sexy Geek Speak has been revived and will take an existing open slot 
Sunday 6-7pm.

First list shows are those shows/programming groups that have renewed at 
least two members and whose program slots are secure. Give yourself a 
pat on the back and look forward to your show through the next year:

List 2
Kingdom Building Ministries and William Jones have two trained and paid 
members, so were moved to List 1. All other shows on List 2 were kept on 
the schedule and preliminarily moved to List 1, presuming the issues 
noted are resolved in a timely manner. This includes the following 
groups, who all checked in personally at tonight’s meeting:

Extensions (one member will pay when able, plus has new member who is 
already FCC-trained)

Habari Connection/Word Up Radio (needs one member trained; this is 
scheduled for Nov. 21)

radio:edit (needs one member renewed, will be taken care of soon)

Mixx-Vibez (one member will pay when able, plus has new member who is 
already FCC-trained)

List 3
Third, these are shows/programming groups that are currently being 
logged as being on air recently in the studio, but who have NO members 
listed as renewed yet. They have NOT answered any of the notices posted 
to the lists or otherwise made contact to renew. We decided to make the 
following arrangements in a last-ditch attempt to help them stay on the 
schedule:

Blu Flame Radio – Mike Lehman will send email to Ray/The Show, asking 
Ray to contact them in person, if they show up at the end of Ray and 
Janet’s The Show when they are scheduled to on Nov. 30, to let them know 
they need to get their membership status situation resolved by the 
station meeting time of 8pm on Dec. 4.

Muslim Mosaic – Mike Lehman will attempt to contact them in person on 
Nov. 28 in order to resolve their status by the time of the station 
meeting of 8pm on Dec. 4

List 4
_These shows are now dropped from the schedule._ The shows listed have 
been removed from the schedule and are now designated as open spots on 
the schedule (with the exception of the Muse and Serenity slots, which 
are now Nomadic Coral Reef) that can be claimed by active programming 
groups at or within 72 hours after the Dec. 4 station meeting.

after Thanksgiving. We will post notice of this to the RFU-Station list. 
You will need to send an email to RFU-Membership at ucimc.org

or by other methods as posted in the email in the announcement of this 
that will be made on the RFU-Station list, so watch your email regularly 
and check it BEFORE your show so that you will be able to get into the 
studio after the lock combination is changed.
