*PROGRAMMING
*Item: Should 4-6pm every weekday be reserved for Public Affairs
programming?
Discussion: Currently automation is running a public affairs block during
this period on weekdays, including Progressive Radio, New Internationalist,
Rust Belt, Earth Beat, and Deconstructing Dinner. Live programs continue to
have priority over automation, but these shows should be public affairs.
Ray expressed concern that there may be a non-public affairs program that
could only broadcast at this time. The group discussed that there ought to
be a priority list of "who can bump whom?" and reached consensus about
designating 4-6pm as public affairs for the near future.

*NEWS TEAM
*Andrew discussed his idea of building an RFU Radio News Team to do
interviews, capture footage, report, and produce radio news for the
station. This effort will likely be a collaboration between WRFU and the
IMC Production and Prinr groups. Some of the station funds set aside for
equipment will go to radio news for field recording.
*
STATION RE-TRAINING
*Following membership renewal, all WRFU members must be re-trained and a
core group of volunteers to train new members will form. Sessions will
begin in late August and extend into September. There will be eight
90-minute workshops, each with 2 trainers - 1 segment on WRFU station
practices, FCC policies, and IMC membership/consensus; and 1 segment on
studio/equipment operation.
