Now that the election is over, I have already become more involved in
the group once again, just as I promised I would. I went to
Bloomington on Friday with Carl and will be at the meeting tonight.
Since I've been out of the loop for a month, I didn't feel it was
appropriate for me to report on Friday's meeting. And I know that
Carl has had family obligations this past weekend, so I'm sure he'll
get to reporting on that meeting just as soon as he can. We both took
time off of work to drive over there and meet, and didn't get back
until 4:30 Friday.

I ALWAYS have council on Monday nights, so if you continue to
schedule excomm meetings then, I will continue to unable to attend
them. This will lead to a decline in my ability to re-lead the group
properly, and will lead to a further breakdown in communications. I
would like to remind people once again that when I agreed to head the
group since no one else offered to, I made it clear that I would need
to run for office in March. Everyone knew this, and all agreed to it
when you elected me. I'm sorry my campaign required all of my
attention over the last month, but the mayor saw to that when he ran
the independent against me. I could not take any chances on loosing
my seat. My role on city council is very important to the group (I
think). I wanted to be sure I re-won my seat, for the city, for my
ward, and for the group.

I would ask the excomm to re-schedule the Monday night meetings so
that I may begin to attend them on another night of the week.

>We lamented that none of us knew what happened Friday (4/6) and
>speculated whether we needed to know for the meeting Tuesday night.
>Hopefully, Carl will be able to issue a summary tomorrow so we won't
>continue to be in the dark. On the other hand, it isn't clear whether
>we want to make any reference to that meeting Tuesday night. Perhaps
>Peter M. or Carl will refer to it during their talks.
>
>We discussed our strong concerns about our perception of a relative
>scarcity of leadership coordination for IPCUTSOT, which is having a
>negative effect on the morale of the group. We wondered whether Laura
>will be taking a more active role with the group, now that she has
>achieved her election goal. We wondered if the two vice-coordinators
>can improve their coordination. I was appointed to head a subcomittee
>to look into this problem.
>
>The next ExComm meeting is tentatively set for Monday April 16th at
>7:30 PM at a location to be announced.
